The regional stage of the competition “Holy Russia Keep the Orthodox Faith!” begins
The regional stage of the all-Russian academic competition on the basics of Orthodox culture titled “Holy Russia Keep the Orthodox Faith!” was held at Nizhny Novgorod Theological Seminary on February 7.

The competition has been held for two years with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia under the auspices of the Russian Federation Ministry of Education and Science, Russian Council on Student Academic Competitions, and the Russian Orthodox Church’s Department of Religious Education and Catechism. This year 40555 students from 1423 educational institutions in Russia took part in the competition.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, which participates in the competition for the first time, 1300 students from 125 educational institutions in 25 districts competed for the winning places. 44 participants came to the regional stage, who showed the best results at the school and municipal stages.

According to Irina Kotina, Vice Director of the Education Department of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese, almost all the participants have done well.

After summarizing the results, an awarding ceremony for the winners was held. The winners of the regional stage will go to Moscow in order to participate in the final stage of the academic competition.
